Progress on our Short Hills project

We’re so happy to share some before and after shots of our Short Hills project! (Please excuse our iPhone snaps! We’ll share professional photos later.)

This dining room had an uneven and unsightly oval cove with outdated trim and chandelier. The walls were a boring beige. Luckily, the client had this gorgeous vintage mid-century modern dining room set passed down from family.

We removed the oval cove and replaced it with a clean lined rectangular coffer. We installed a beautiful chinoiserie mural and a new beaded chandelier. We removed the cabinet from the credenza so that the furniture was not so matchy-matchy and to give us space for these stunning deep blue ceramic lamps and round antique mirror. The dining room table and chairs were refinished and repaired, and the cushions covered with a cut velvet fabric.

Linen draperies with custom embroidered border completed the space, and a peony pink velvet window seat cushion added a jolt of color.

This powder room had a dark and heavy wood vanity with black marble top, outdated sconces and a blah mirror. There also were awkward alcoves that were not functional storage. Our client wanted this to be a whimsical and fun room for her guests to use, and also wanted to make better use of the space.

We removed the vanity cabinet and replaced it with a console style sink with white quartz counter and custom designed decorative backsplash. Pretty sconces with crystal details and a bright blue lacquered mirror create a fresh and modern look. Hand printed birds and butterflies wallpaper add the perfect amount of whimsy! The alcoves were closed and now provide functional storage. A new linen shade with blue grosgrain ribbon to match the mirror ties it all together.

New Scoop!

Hi - Hope you had a wonderful summer! In case you missed it, here’s a little bit of what we’ve been up to!

We were featured in Schumacher’s new book!

We were thrilled and honored to be included in Schumacher’s new book, “One Hundred Rooms to Know and Love.” Our client’s powder room was a favorite project of our’s and features this stunning wallpaper, Octavia Sisal.

In small spaces you can really go all out with a luxurious and colorful wall covering. Our client, who has great taste, already had this beautiful faux bois mirror and the lines of it fit perfectly into the wallpaper pattern. We added pops of hot pink with the hand towel and flowers, making this small gem of a room a true delight to use!

Fun Interview with Addison Weeks

Addison Weeks is one of of our favorite hardware companies, so we were super excited when they asked us to participate in this really fun interview for their blog!

It’s so easy to change out your hardware to create a whole new look or update a vintage piece of furniture. For this dining room we didn’t want to use the pulls that came with the piece. Instead we specified these gorgeous dogwood knobs by Addison Weeks in collaboration with the talented designer Barrie Benson. We chose the brass finish with rose quartz centers. We think they look gorgeous!
