K+K Interior Design is a Ridgewood, NJ based design firm co-founded by Kerri Pilchik and Kristina Phillips. KKID’s excitement and passion for good design, and its emotional effect, is evident in all of their work. They believe that interiors should be authentic reflections of your best personal style. KKID’s aesthetic ranges from colorful and eclectic to fresh and modern. Their designs often begin with clean lines and a neutral palette, which are then layered with color, texture and unique accents. Because every home should tell a story, KKID sources vintage and global pieces, and loves to incorporate personal items such as family heirlooms and art. Classic with a modern twist, their interiors remain timeless and chic.
When Kerri and Kristina met at the New York School of Interior Design, they immediately recognized that they shared a common design aesthetic, and that by fusing their talents and individual perspectives, they could create unique and polished spaces for their clients. With so many available design choices today, KKID streamlines the process, providing exceptional client service with a clear and efficient approach.
Kristina Phillips brings an international flair to KKID, as she had the good fortune to have been exposed to many lifestyles and cultures while growing up abroad. She hails from a Scandinavian background - the home of clean lines and simple design. Kristina graduated from Denison University with a liberal arts degree, and worked in public relations at Random House publishing. After getting married to her college sweetheart (and favorite dentist!), Kristina stayed home to raise their three children. To fulfill her dream of practicing interior design, she enrolled in the New York School of Interior Design, where she not only honed her skills as a designer, but met her future business partner. By juxtaposing modern elements in traditional homes, and vice versa, Kristina creates interest, depth and glamour in every project.
Kerri Pilchik received a degree in art history from Duke University and studied interior design at the New York School of Interior Design. Her love of design began as a young girl when her father built her a dollhouse and she spent all of her time decorating it. She practiced environmental law in New York City before deciding to pursue her life long passion for interior design full time. Kerri brings her strong background in client service and her fresh eye for mixing prints and color to KKID. She loves to blend furniture and accessories from different periods and styles, including Asian art and mid-century modern pieces. Kerri lives in Ridgewood, NJ with her husband and two young children.
